Metaphorical cards

Hold a question in mind, draw a card and let the image suggest an answer.

Hold your question in mind, then draw a card.

How to work with a card

5 steps

  1. Choose a topic or a problem

Decide what you want to work with: something personal (self-discovery, a decision to make) or professional (growing your work, a creative task).

  2. Draw a card

Press the button and receive your metaphorical card with its image.

  3. Study the image

Look at the card closely and at every element on it. Notice how they relate to each other, and notice your first thoughts.

  4. Analyse

Use the card to generate ideas, find solutions or new approaches. What conclusions does the image suggest, and how could you act on them?

  5. Refine

Cards are a flexible tool. Ask follow-up questions and look for the answer with the next card.

What metaphorical cards are

Metaphorical cards are images that carry abstract or complex ideas into concrete, recognisable scenes. They help you see a question from another side, because they work with associations rather than arguments.

They are a useful tool for creative thinking, problem solving and self-discovery. A card does not predict — it suggests where to look.
